Meet the parent volunteers of BCHS
We are parents, business people, community - we are Byron Bay. A parent run committee made up of teachers, entrepreneurs, accountants/financial advisors, marketing experts, medical professionals.
Supported by consultants such as educational leaders, partnerships & planet development, builders, planners. We are parents of children who currently attend the incredible Byron Community Primary School, a non denominal school for our curious, creative learners.

Charlotte Teague
Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood)Certificate III in Children’s Services | Certificate IV in Small Business Management. Charlotte is a proud mother of three lively, bright children—Alby, Coco, and Molly—who attend Byron Community Primary School. Since 2019, Charlotte has served on the school’s Board of Directors. She and her husband, James, feel incredibly fortunate to raise their Jarjums on Arakwal Country, spending as much time as possible together on Tallows Beach.

Ellie is a Visual Arts, Photographic & Digital Media Educator. Her company Lucida Learning provides innovative learning experiences for students and teachers. She is also an Independent Curator.

Mother to Zimmy and Val, local Byron Bay Resident and founder of two prolific Australian brands - Candice has a Journalism Degree and works in the Marketing / Business Space. She is passionate about community and service.

Creative Director and CEO of frivolity at Ocean Shores Tavern, mother of 2 incredible humans, rad wife, fiercely loyal friend, and no.1 hype girl!Kim Dowling has spent years in the fitness industry owner/operator of a chain of health clubs, and in recent times turned her passion for people and community into the hospitality industry. She has a background in sales & marketing, NLP and communications, and a flair for PR, connecting people, and flashmobs. goes here

Karla Rose is a Byron Bay resident of 10 years, mother of three, and the founder of three well-known Australian brands. With a strong passion for design and a clear creative vision, Karla has built businesses that reflect her values of authenticity, sustainability, and innovation. Committed to living a wholesome, healthy lifestyle, she brings a unique perspective to every project she undertakes. Karla's dedication to mindful living, combined with her entrepreneurial spirit, makes her an inspiring force in both business and community.

Shinelle Moruf
Shinelle is a Caribbean-born woman who grew up in America and now residing in Byron Bay for the last 11 years. She holds a Doctorate of Audiology from the University of Colorado at Boulder, currently practicing as a clinical and research audiologist. Despite facing extreme adversity, her mum sought the best possible education for her and her sisters. Shinelle’s success, tenacity and grit is a testament to the importance of high quality well balanced formative education. Her travels, diverse background and experience in academia have provided the tools to now focus on founding a dream school for her son and daughter.

With a degree in business marketing and ongoing studies in nutritional science, Kellie brings a unique perspective, blending her passion for health, wellness, and education to help create a school that will be a lasting asset for generations to come.
